Located in Princeton, New Jersey, United States, Princeton University is a private Ivy League research university i.e. ranked consistently among the top 10 universities of the World. It was founded as the College of New Jersey in 1746 in Elizabeth. In 1747, the institution moved to Newark and then after nine more years it went to its current site i.e. Princeton, New Jersey, where in 1896, it was renamed Princeton University.

Princeton offers undergraduate and post graduate instruction in the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and engineering. It provides professional degrees through the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, the School of Architecture and the Bendheim Center for Finance. The University is connected with the Princeton Theological Seminary, Institute for Advanced Study, and the Westminster Choir College of Rider University.

Many notable people are the graduates of Princeton University. It produced 41 Nobel laureates, 17 winners from National Medal of Science, the most Abel Prize winners and Fields Medalists of a university (4th and 8th, respectively), five National Humanities Medal recipients, 204 Rhodes Scholars, and ten Turing Award laureates.
