Dixie National Forest – The Hidden Gem in the United States

Situated in Utah, the United States of America, Dixie National Forest in the largest national forest in Utah, spreading over an area of 8,000-km-square. Its name was derived by the warm southern part of Utah. The highest point in the forest is at Boulder mountain, which is an 11,322-feet and lowest point near St.George, which is 2,800 feet. The Forest is divided into four distinct zones, according to their geographical characteristics. These are, namely, High altitude forests, Markagunt, Pansaugunt, and Aquarius Plateaus. This forest is also filled with a number of lakes, mainly in the Boulder Mountain section. The temperature here is mostly warm, with 100 degrees-celsius as the highest and -30 degrees-Celsius as the lowest temperature. Due to variant landforms, a number of species of animals have found their homes on this land which also serves as the greatest attraction for the tourists. These include cougar, bobcat, Utah Prairie dog, wild turkey, Mule deer, blue grouse, cottontail rabbit, golden eagle, and a number of fishes in the lakes nearby.
